Expertise

22 years ago I recognized the value in athletic and strength training to
improve performance, physique, and health. Through my training
experience I recognized the need to address flexibility, strength and balance
to prevent injury. I also saw the need to incorporate rehabilitation methods
on a regular basis to restore injuries to pre-trauma status.

For example when a muscle or joint is injured, the nervous system develops
an alternate method of moment to compensate for the injury site. After the
physical healing process completes, the altered movement patterns remain
intact until the correct patterns are re-established. This involves teaching
the nervous system to innervate the original and correct motor units and re-
trained them to fire in proper sequence.

I accomplish this rehab by developing flexibility routines for the purpose of
increasing range of motion and reducing muscle tension. I also select
exercises/drill work designed to train neural pathways while simultaneously
creating an effective workout. The result is a reconfiguration of muscle firing
orders to pre-injury status, or more simplified restoring natural movement.

An “injury” qualifies as anything from an old sports injury, car accident,
repetitive job movement, degenerative joint or more. Everyone experiences
some sort of joint or muscular pain, so it’s wise to seek a proper fitness
routine designed around your specific and individual needs before working
out on your own. A proper fitness routine will prescribe safe movements,
and if wanted, body composition strategies and nutritional input. These
components will result in improved health and fitness while increasing
mobility and reducing or sometimes eliminating pain.

The workouts are designed to be fun, challenging, progressive and most
importantly, functional, whether your fitness goal is weight loss, weight gain,
sport or just a healthy lifestyle.

Motivation

I’m motivated by seeing my clients succeed. I have witnessed my clients out-perform their previous bests, and accomplish things beyond their expectations.  Whether it is getting to a specific body fat percentage, bench pressing a weight greater than their all time best, or running their fastest 40-yd dash, my clients will sometimes laugh because I get so excited about their accomplishments!  These changes take hard work and dedication and I love to see them rewarded for their efforts. My job is to inspire my clients, but little do they know that their hard work pushes me to complete that extra rep as well.  “Let’s uncover your all time best!”

Specialties

I specialize in strength and conditioning. I have an exceptional understanding of the concepts and exercises necessary to trigger the hormonal responses that promote strength and muscle size increases. In order to minimize injury and maximize muscle group usage, I adhere to strict form fundamentals and techniques for all levels of clients regardless of experience.  In addition, all exercises are performed under complete supervision to modify the desired training results.  Some training programs may require additional client work; a training calendar will be provided to guide workouts during non-session hours.

Client Success

Jesse trained with Victor to prepare for his college sophomore season of football at Missouri Valley.  During his time of training, Jesse drastically increased his strength, speed, and agility and vertical by 4 inches!  In addition he lost 6% body fat and gained 15 lbs of lean body mass.  Jesse has over 900 all purpose yards and 7 TDs this season!
